Meet the 2008 Board of Trustees

Ann M. Albershardt , Granville, Ohio. Ann is the mother of three sons and grandmother of six children. She graduated from Denison University where she serves on the President's Leadership Council and was the past 50th Reunion Gift Co-Chair, raising an unprecedented $2.4 million. Ann is a member of Broad Street Presbyterian Church, where she is a member of the Heritage Foundation, a former Elder, President of the Board of Trustees, Finance Secretary and Business Manager. She was Vice President of the Symphony Club of Central Ohio, volunteer at Children's Hospital and at Vision Screening for preschoolers. Currently she helps out at a local food pantry and is a member of the Columbus Female Benevolent Society where she distributes aid to children under three years of age. Ann also continues to enjoy two sewing groups to which she has belonged for over 30 years. She likes reading, gardening, traveling and concerts.

Mark Stephen Law, M.D., Granville, Ohio. Mark is a board certified Ophthalmologist practicing in Newark, Ohio.  He is on the active staff of Licking Memorial Health Systems and served as the Chief of Ophthalmology. He has published articles in his area of specialty. He currently is president of Licking County Medical Society; past president of the Ohio Ophthalmology Society; Ohio Councilor to the AAO 2007; and is the current president of the Granville Christian Academy.

Bonnie Bosworth Coe, Ph.D. , Newark, Ohio. Bonnie is President of Central Ohio Technical College, Newark, Ohio. She has served as Vice President & Dean of Faculty, Interim Director & Co-Principal Investigator, Pedagogy Consultant, International Education Consultant, Curriculum Consultant, Doctoral Assistantship, Principal and Teacher, Director Faculty-Staff Development and Director of Education & Training. Bonnie has presented at numerous conferences and workshops.

L. James Gordon , Granville, Ohio. Jim, formerly a senior partner, is currently of counsel at Morrow, Gordon & Byrd, Ltd. He is past president of the Licking County Bar Association; past chairman of the Negligence Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association; a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, American Bar Foundation, and Ohio Bar Foundation, Licking County Mental Health Association, and the Granville Board of Education. He is past President of Newark Kiwanis and Rotary Club of Granville and former moderator of First Baptist Church of Granville. He is a recipient of an Alumni citation from Denison University and served for three years as the Granville representative on the Kendal Corporate Board of Directors, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Kay M. Edstene, Villanova, PA. Kay serves as The Kendal Corporation Board liason with Kendal at Granville. Kay is a retired Executive Director of the Friends Council on Education. She has also the past History Department Chair, Dean of Students and Assistant Headmaster of the George School, and the past Head of Friends School in Brooklyn. Jill serves as Chair of The Kendal Corporation Board Development Committee, and has also served with the Friends Center Corporation, the Friends Board Training and Support Project, the Haverford College Board, and is the past president of the Council of American Private Education.

Jill H. Griesse , Granville, Ohio. Jill was Vice President of Promotions and Advertising for Bry-Air, Inc. and is partial owner of Bry-Air, Inc. Jill serves on COTC Board of Trustees, Granville School Foundation, former member Johnstown-Monroe Board of Education, former member Newark area Development Fund and a 15-year member United States International Olympic Committee (Swimming).

James D. Jung, Granville, Ohio. Jim is a Financial Planner with Jung Financial Planning, LLC in Granville. Past President and Investor of Island Capital Corporation in Florida, Past President of JII/Sales Promotion Associates, Inc. in Coshocton, OH, Chief Operating Officer and Senior V. P. & Chief Financial Officer of W. A. Kreuger Co. in Arizona, and Past V. P. Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and Assistant to Corporate Controller of Midland-Ross Corporation in Cleveland, OH. C.P.A. & CFP degrees. Board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Robbins Hunter Museum and Hospice Foundation of Licking County.

David Lore, Newark, Ohio. David retired in 2003 from the Columbus Dispatch where he was a reporter and editor for 38 years, covering beats such as government and politics, the environment and science. He is a member and former clerk of the Granville Society of Friends (Quakers) and is active in several regional and national Quaker organizations. A U.S. Army (Arty.) veteran, David is a graduate of Bowling Green University (BA) and Ohio State University (MA). He and his wife, Rosemary, a retired teacher, live on a small farm eight miles north of Granville in McKean Township. A daughter, Diane, is an editor with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Barbara M. Martin, Granville, Ohio. Barb is Supervisor of the Supportive Services Unit of the Licking County Department of Job and Family Services. She formerly served on the Granville Comprehensive Plan Review Committee, Granville Village Board of Building and Zoning Appeals, Greenspace Advisory Committee and Hospice Board. She is currently serving on the Licking County Planning Board Citizen Advisory Committee and the Mission and Associate Pastor Nominating Committee of the First Presbyterian Church.

William T. McConnell, Granville, Ohio. Bill was formerly the Chairman of Park National Corporation and The Park National Bank in Newark, Ohio. He is also a director of the Consolidated Computer Center. In addition to bank related directorships, Bill serves on the boards of several local corporations. He is a Trustee of his alma mater, Denison University. He has served Ohio banking as past president of the Ohio Bankers Association and former chairman of Ohio BANKPAC. He served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. For the American Bankers Association he is a former chairman of both the ABA Government Relations Council and the Communications Council, served on the Board of Directors, and served as President of the ABA. His activities in the community include current service as a trustee of the Dawes Arboretum, the Licking County Foundation for Public Giving, and the Newark Campus Development Fund. He also serves as a director of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. A former President of the Newark Chamber of Commerce and the Newark Rotary Club, Bill also served as Trustee and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Licking Memorial Hospital, and subsequently chaired the Hospital's holding company, Licking Memorial Health Systems.

T. Thomas Mills, M.D., Newark, Ohio. Tom was a family physician in Newark for thirty-five years. Chief of the Medical Staff at Licking Memorial Hospital, Trustee of Shepherd Hill Hospital Board. Trustee and Chairman of Licking Memorial Hospital Board. Medical Director of Arlington Nursing Home & Heath Nursing & Convalescent Center. Retired in 1998 as the senior partner of a four person medical group.

Ruth E. Owen (President), Granville, Ohio. Ruth is retired as the Director of the Granville Business and Professional Association. She served on the boards of Licking Memorial Hospital, Twentieth Century Club, Camp O'Bannon and the United Way of Licking County. She is an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Granville.

Seth H. Patton (Treasurer), Heath, Ohio. Seth is Vice President for Finance and Management for Denison University. He is an Active Member of Christ Lutheran Church and Past President of Council. He serves as treasurer of a local branch of the Aid Association of Lutherans. He is involved with Granville Rotary, currently serving on its Board and as President of the Granville Rotary Foundation.

Harriett F. Stone, Granville, Ohio. Harriett is past Director of Alumni Affairs, Denison University and past Co-Owner of "Good Things", a gourmet kitchen and giftware store in Bexley, Ohio. Civic activities include: President, Junior League of Columbus; Constituent Representative, United Way of Franklin County; Allocation Team, United Way and Board of Trustees, Gladden Community House. She is a member of St. Albans of Bexley Church of Bexley and a member of the Vestry, Alter Guild, Pastoral Care Committee, and past Chair of the Rummage Sale. She enjoys gardening, cooking, tennis, reading and crossword puzzles. Harriett has four children; eight grandchildren and one spoiled Springer Spaniel.
