Kendal's Health Services are Extensive

Kendal at Granville's health care program provides a full continuum of care for your lifetime, all on the Kendal campus. The Life Care Agreement covers some health care services. Others are covered by Medicare, Medigap and other insurance*, or the resident's funds.

The extensive continuing care contract (life care) includes:

  • Coordinated health care program for life.
  • Nursing staff on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Wellness programs, including consultative services of nurses, dietician, and other health professionals.
  • Routine services such as health assessments, blood pressure checks, and medication reviews.
  • On-site availability of physicians and specialists.
  • Coordination of Medicare-eligible home health care.
  • Maintenance therapies beyond Medicare-covered services.
  • Assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
  • Unlimited stay in a private room in assisted living, if needed.**
  • Unlimited stay in a private room in skilled nursing, if needed.**
  • Individualized care plan and assisted living activities program.
  • Processing of Medicare and supplemental insurance forms.

* Insurance Requirements
You are expected to maintain, at your expense, medical and surgical insurances, typically Medicare A and B or equivalent coverage, and a Medicare Supplemental (Medigap) Plan that meets the requirements of the community.

** Residents who choose the Modified contract and carry long term care insurance will pay the per-diem rate for the period specified in their contract, in exchange for a discount on the entry fee. See Residence and Care Agreement.

Health care services typically covered by your insurance or private funds include:

  • Physical, occupational, and speech therapies.
  • Services of physicians and specialists.
  • Dentistry, podiatry, dermatology, and ophthalmology.
  • Prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Skilled nursing care covered by Medicare A.
